I bought this for my wife becasuse the suction mount which came with her GPS would fall off the windshield in cold weather. This mount is easy to mold to the contours of the dashboard, holds the GPS firmly and has a much smaller footprint than the old style beanbag dashboard mount. Have only had this a little while and only used it a few times so far, but it has solved the issue I was having with the suction cup to date. The suction cup had a tendency to fall off at times and caused unsafe condition to try to fix while driving. This unit so far has worked exceptionally. I have turned sharp corners and hit bumps and it hasnt fallen off yet. I keep the plastic backing to replace onto the bottom of the unit when not is use so it doesnt get dirty and lose its stickness. I havent seen the problem of it messing up my dashboard like other reviews complained about. So far so good!! -- So far so good

at this time I have only had this dash pad for a few weeks, as for functionality is has performed great, no slips or slides and I like the compact design it doesn't look hideous sitting on the dash. My only concern is how it holds up once the summer sun comes calling, the silicone base pad? does it get glued to my dash or break down and leave behind a stain? we will find out as I like the thing enough to run the risk -- the jourey is still out
